missingWrote a review on Dec 05limited menuunderwhelming breakfast
Honestly, it woudl ve been nicer if the dinner menu had more than just two options. the breakfast was an absolute joke, just one egg? For £140, I expected at least an edible meal! since I got no special treatment during my stay, I almost gave a good review but just couldn’t. Pretty disappointing!

The hotel offers a beautiful garden view from the rooms.
The bathroom floor felt cold during my stay, which was quite uncomfortable. the mattress was harder than I expected, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. I felt the hotel was about £20 overpriced given the accommodations provided.

The Mey Hotel has a lovely charm that made my recent stay quite enjoyable. Emma and Euan were incredibly welcoming, making me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. My room, with a garden view, felt cozy and comfortable, featuring a super soft bed that promised a good night’s sleep. I particularly enjoyed the excellent food. the dinner options were well-prepared, with my king prawn cocktail starter being a highlight. Breakfast, cooked to order, was delightful, avoiding the common pitfalls of buffet-style meals. The outdoor space looked inviting, although not used during my stay due to the weather. On the downside, the bathroom had a cold floor, which made it less comfortable, and I felt the menu could benefit from additional side options for dinner. the location, while scenic, may require a bit of driving to reach nearby attractions. Despite a few minor inconveniences, the warm atmosphere and quality food made this stay a memorable one.

Super cozy place with great vibes
Emma and Euan really made our stay special! The room was super comfy, like, we didn’t wanna get outta bed. Dinner was tasty, especially loved the king prawn starter, though I’d have liked more side options. The bar area had a nice chill vibe, perfect for winding down. Just wish the bathroom floor was warmer!

The staff were super friendly, making us feel right at home. Cleanliness was top-notch, and we enjoyed some excellent meals, especially the locally sourced ingredients. Plus, the location was perfect for exploring the Castle of Mey and was close to the ferry for Orkney.
Absolutely nothing to criticize.
